AEDC explained that the outage is necessitated by a scheduled maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria on the 60MVA Transformer TR1 at the Katampe Transmission Substation. The exercise is slated for Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The distribution company stated that the maintenance forms part of efforts to improve service reliability and enhance electricity supply to affected areas.
It apologised for the inconvenience and urged customers to remain patient during the period of the temporary disruption.
