Ahmad-Gumi disclosed that his decision followed consultations and encouragement from stakeholders and residents within the constituency who urged him to step forward.
He currently serves as a legislative aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, a role he says has given him practical exposure to lawmaking and policy development.
According to him, his experience within the National Assembly environment has prepared him to effectively represent his constituents and influence people-centered legislation.
Speaking on his shift from online advocacy to active politics, Ahmad-Gumi stressed that Nigeria’s youthful population must transition from digital conversations to real governance participation.
He emphasized the need for innovation, technology, and data-driven decision-making in addressing governance challenges, noting that young Nigerians possess the skills required to drive modern solutions.
The aspirant pledged to prioritize transparency, accessibility, and grassroots engagement if elected, assuring constituents that their voices would shape his legislative actions.
Describing Nigeria’s political space as being at a “generational crossroads,” he called for collaboration between experienced leaders and emerging young voices to ensure balanced leadership.
Ahmad-Gumi maintained that sustainable national development requires unity beyond ethnic and religious lines, urging citizens to see political participation as a collective civic responsibility.
