President Bola Tinubu has appointed Tunji Disu as the new Inspector General of Police, replacing Kayode Egbetokun who resigned following a directive from the President
Egbetokun, who was appointed IGP in June 2023, was due for retirement in September 2024 but his tenure was extended. Disu’s appointment is expected to be confirmed by the Nigeria Police Council and the Senate
