The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Tuesday assured that reconstruction of Terminal One at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, will be accelerated following the fire incident that affected the building on Monday.

Keyamo gave the assurance after inspecting the ground floor of the terminal, noting that the structure had already been scheduled for demolition and complete rehabilitation before the incident.
He said the Federal Executive Council had earlier approved contracts worth about N987 billion for infrastructure upgrades at airports nationwide, including N712.26 billion for the rehabilitation and modernization of the Lagos international terminal, expected to be completed within 22 months.
