The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has declared that the era of impunity in the Nigeria Police Force is over following his appointment by Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking after his swearing-in at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Disu said he would enforce discipline in the force through strict adherence to human rights and a zero-tolerance policy for corruption.

He noted that his appointment came unexpectedly and said the President’s remarks about his service record challenged him to improve policing and promote peace across the country.
The acting police chief also stressed that effective policing would depend on cooperation between officers and members of the public.
