Israel has launched simultaneous military attacks on Iran and Lebanon in what it described as a “preventative” operation, with explosions reported in Iran’s capital, Tehran, early Saturday.
Witnesses confirmed hearing multiple blasts in Tehran as Israeli forces reportedly carried out the strikes, though details of the targets and extent of damage remain unclear.

Israeli air strikes also targeted Blat and Wadi Barghouti in southern Lebanon’s Iqlim al-Tuffah region, in what observers described as a violation of the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hezbollah in November 2024.

The Israeli military said the attacks were aimed at Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon, while reports indicated that several raids struck open areas in forest and hilly locations. Israeli warplanes were also seen flying over southern Lebanon during the operation.
Local media reported that Israeli drones dropped explosive devices in the town of Markaba, marking repeated attacks in the area.
No casualties were immediately confirmed, although a recent Israeli strike in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley reportedly killed one person and injured 29 others earlier in the week.
