The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has disclosed that 21 vessels are currently discharging petroleum products and other cargoes at major ports in Lagos.

The update was contained in the authority’s daily Shipping Position bulletin released on Saturday.

According to the NPA, the vessels are offloading consignments at Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tin Can Island Port.

The cargoes being discharged include aviation fuel, premium motor spirit (petrol), diesel, bulk gas, cargo trucks and bulk wheat.

Other consignments being handled include alkaline materials, sugar, general cargo, fresh fish, clinker, soya bean oil and containerised goods.

The authority further revealed that 41 additional vessels carrying petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at Lagos ports between February 28 and March 7.

According to the NPA, the incoming shipments will include general cargo, fertiliser, crude oil, salt, containerised goods, petrol, sugar and bulk wheat.

Meanwhile, 17 vessels loaded with commodities such as diesel, aviation fuel, ethanol, crude oil, bulk urea and general cargo have already arrived and are currently waiting to berth at the ports.
