Hon. Adamu Atiku Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has resigned from his position as Adamawa State Commissioner for Works and Energy Development.
In a resignation letter dated March 2, 2026, and addressed to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Adamu said his decision followed deep personal reflection and careful consideration.

He described his tenure as a rare honour and privilege, thanking the governor for the confidence reposed in him and for the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure development in Adamawa State.
Adamu also appreciated the people of the state for their prayers and support throughout his time in office, concluding his letter with prayers for divine guidance and strength for Governor Fintiri in the continued service of the state.
His resignation comes amid political shifts in the state following Governor Fintiri’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
