The committee will review existing laws, regulations, and policies, examine implications of the 2025 Electricity Reform Laws, and assess asset ownership and management of NIPP and Niger Delta Power Holding Company facilities, including the Omotosho, Olorunsogo, and Ihovbor plants.

GAMCO aims to recover stranded power, starting with the Benin-Lagos transmission corridor, improve electricity reliability, attract private investment, and boost industrial productivity.

The pilot phase targets 1,600 MW recovery within 18–24 months, alongside a new high-capacity 330kV+ double-circuit transmission line.

The initiative aligns with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, seeking enhanced energy efficiency, job security, and improved investor confidence nationwide.
