President Donald Trump has said the United States will try to keep casualties in Iran to a minimum amid the ongoing conflict between both nations.

Trump made the remark on Saturday while addressing a gathering with Latin American leaders in Florida, where he provided an update on the war situation.

The US President also disclosed that he would travel later in the day to Dover for the dignified transfer of six American soldiers who lost their lives in the conflict.

The ceremony will mark the return of the first US troops killed since the outbreak of the war with Iran.

According to Trump, deaths are inevitable during wartime, but efforts would be made to limit the number of casualties.

“I’ll be leaving for Dover, very sad situation, to greet the families of the heroes who are coming home from Iran.

“They’re coming home in a different manner than they thought they’d be coming home, but they’re great heroes in our country, and we’re going to keep it that way,” Trump said.
