Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service later arrived at the scene and secured the area to prevent residents from approaching the collapsed structure.

Authorities restricted access to the site while emergency teams assessed the situation.

Reports also indicated that a section of the property used for residential purposes remained standing beside the part of the building that collapsed.

As of the time of filing this report, no casualties had been recorded, according to initial information from the scene.
