UNILAG ASUU begins indefinite strike

The University of Lagos (University of Lagos) chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commenced an indefinite strike following complaints over partial salaries received in January and February 2026.

The decision was communicated after an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, with the official communique signed by ASUU Chairperson Idou Kehinde and Secretary Adesina Arikawe.

The strike will remain in effect until the university management resolves the salary grievances raised by the union, disrupting academic activities across the institution.
