He said the meeting provided the President with a direct update on developments on the ground, noting that some media reports do not fully capture the scope of military operations.
The Defence Minister acknowledged recent attacks by terrorist groups but stated that security forces have continued to respond decisively, inflicting heavy losses on insurgent networks.
Musa added that several high-ranking militant commanders had been neutralised in recent operations, while troops also recovered weapons and other assets from the terrorists.
He also paid tribute to fallen soldiers, describing their deaths as regrettable but reaffirming the military’s determination to secure the country.
The minister appealed to Nigerians to remain patient, explaining that terrorist groups often escalate attacks during the period of Ramadan.
He expressed confidence that with the approval of new military hardware and improved collaboration among security agencies, the armed forces would ultimately defeat terrorism.
