The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has called Air Peace for an urgent meeting on Monday following reports of flight disruptions and passenger dissatisfaction, particularly involving the Heathrow–Abuja route, where passengers were allegedly rerouted via Gatwick–Lagos–Abuja and left stranded in Lagos.

According to the regulator, the incident is part of a series of complaints regarding delayed refunds, compensation issues, and inadequate passenger care, prompting the activation of the NCAA’s Consumer Protection Department.

“We will not tolerate any situation where paying passengers are abandoned by airline operators,” the NCAA stated.

The authority emphasized its support for domestic airlines but reiterated that all operators must strictly comply with aviation standards and passenger protection regulations. A full investigation into the disruptions is set to be conducted, and regulatory action will be taken if violations are confirmed.

The NCAA, as the sole regulatory body for civil aviation in Nigeria, affirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights and interests of all stakeholders in the aviation sector.
