The suit was filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory by human rights lawyer, Ikechukwu Obasi.

According to him, the incident was recorded and later circulated online without the girl’s consent, thereby violating her constitutional right to privacy.

The lawyer argued that the action breached Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which guarantees the right to privacy, as well as provisions of the Child Rights Act 2003.

He is asking the court to award ₦200 million in damages, compel the actress to issue a public apology, and order the removal of the video from all social media platforms.

Obasi also urged the court to declare the act as a violation of the student’s constitutional rights to dignity and personal privacy.

The controversy followed a video shared by Dikeh showing her performing a deliverance session on the schoolgirl during a visit to a secondary school in Durumi II.
