In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke accused the opposition party of repeatedly invoking federal power in ways that could undermine democratic principles.

According to the statement, the governor said the opposition’s claims were dragging the name of Bola Ahmed Tinubu into controversy, insisting the president, as a democrat, would not support actions capable of undermining credible elections.

The statement noted that the president has instead focused federal power on governance initiatives, citing projects such as the reconstruction of the Ibadan–Ilesa road, student loan programmes and proposals for state policing.

Adeleke urged the Osun APC to stop associating the president with alleged threats to manipulate the electoral process.

He stressed that residents of the state are committed to free and fair elections and will insist that their votes determine who emerges victorious in the polls.

The governor said political contestants should focus on presenting their manifestoes and convincing voters rather than making statements suggesting possible manipulation of the electoral process.

He also called on voters across Osun State to remain vigilant ahead of the August 15 election, assuring them that no force would override the will of the people.
