Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has visited victims of the recent bomb blasts in Maiduguri, currently receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Shettima made the visit on Wednesday, where he met with injured victims and medical personnel attending to them following the deadly explosions that rocked parts of the city.

He was accompanied by the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Zubaida Umar.
Speaking after the visit, the Vice President expressed deep sympathy to the government and people of Borno State, particularly families who lost loved ones.
“We are here to commiserate with the government and people of Borno State, especially families of those who lost their loved ones,” he said.
He also prayed for the repose of the deceased and quick recovery of the injured.
Shettima strongly condemned the attack and those behind it, emphasizing that no religion supports violence against innocent people.
His remarks come amid heightened security concerns in the North-East following the recent blasts.
