Fani-Kayode made the remarks while reacting to Momodu’s criticism of himself and Reno Omokri, whom Momodu had described as “perpetual agents of perfidy” lacking credibility.
In a post on X, the former minister said he was initially restrained in his earlier comments but expressed surprise at Momodu’s response.

“I saw Dele Momodu’s response to my article on him and was amused. I tried to be polite and restrained in that write-up, and I didn’t realise that it would hurt him so deeply. Yet for that, I offer no apology,” he said.
Fani-Kayode further criticised Momodu’s reaction, describing it as emotional and lacking logic.
“I said he sounded tired and worn in his interview… but from his response today, it is clear that he is now completely unhinged. He has blown his gasket, and his reaction is rooted more in emotion than it is in logic,” he added.
The diplomat claimed that Momodu is “fighting a lost cause” and has become “a shadow of his former self,” insisting that his political relevance has diminished.
“For Bobby Dee, the glory days are certainly over, and I suspect that by 2027, when Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerges victorious, he will crawl back into the hole that he originally came from,” he said.
