Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has insisted he has no regrets over his tenure, even as he faces ongoing legal proceedings.
Malami, who along with his wife, Bashir Asabe, and son, Abdulaziz, is answering 16-count money laundering charges, said he intends to vigorously defend himself against all allegations.

The trio pleaded not guilty before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The former minister highlighted what he described as violations of his constitutional rights, noting that his homes and business premises were searched without his knowledge.
“Constitutionally, I have the right to oversee any search of my property and know exactly what is taken,” he stated.
Despite the ordeal in EFCC custody, Kuje Prison, and with the Department of State Services, Malami described the experience as “God’s will” and reaffirmed his determination to defend his reputation.
“I have no regrets regarding what I did during my time as a minister,” he concluded.
