LaLiga president Javier Tebas has welcomed the decision by Cristiano Ronaldo to invest in Spanish club UD Almeria, describing it as a major boost for the team’s future.
Ronaldo, through his CR7 Sports Investments, recently acquired a 25 per cent stake in the Segunda División side, marking his entry into football club ownership.

Since the deal, Almeria have experienced a significant rise in global visibility, with their social media following surging to rank among the top five clubs in Spain.

Reacting to the development, Tebas highlighted the commercial and sporting benefits of the investment.
“Almería are now the fifth Spanish club on social media since Cristiano Ronaldo decided to invest into their project,” he said.
He added that Ronaldo’s involvement would attract sponsors and strengthen the club’s long-term ambitions.
“Cristiano into the Almería project means ambition for the future,” Tebas noted.
