In the videos, dozens of armed men were seen gathered in formation at what appeared to be an open field used as an Eid prayer ground. Many of them were reportedly holding rifles and other weapons while participating in the congregational prayers.

The clips were reportedly released by AZ-ZALLAQA, a platform associated with insurgent propaganda.

The display has triggered concern among residents and security observers who say the footage highlights the continued presence and operational capability of insurgent groups in parts of the North-East.

Borno State has remained one of the most affected regions in Nigeria’s long-running battle against insurgency, with military operations continuing across several communities.

Security analysts say the videos raise questions about how insurgent groups are still able to organise large public gatherings despite ongoing counter-terrorism operations by the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The development comes as Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan—a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.

While most communities observed the festival peacefully, the appearance of armed insurgents conducting similar prayers has drawn strong reactions online.

Nigeria’s military and security agencies have continued operations aimed at dismantling insurgent networks across the North-East.

Authorities say efforts are ongoing to weaken terrorist groups, rescue kidnapped victims, and restore stability to affected communities.
