A trigger happy vigilante corps member has shot dead a-29-year-old man identified as Mr Chukwudi Chukwu, in Okposi community, Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Sources say the deceased was attending a wake with his friend at Nediokpa village, when the vigilante identified as Hosanna Aju allegedly shot him dead on Tuesday.
The victim was gathered was set to wed on April 28, 2021, with all arrangements for the marriage ceremony fulfilled before his life was cut short by the trigger-happy local security personal.

The victim, hails from Amoji Nenwe community, in the Aninri LGA of Enugu State.
Mr Innocent Ezeogo, friend of the deceased who attended the wake with him told newsmen that the assailant approached them shortly after his arrival at the venue and wanted to fire a shot in their midst.
According to Innocent, they protested against the move by Aju and stood up to leave the scene when the gunman shot his friend dead.
Mrs Juliana Nnamani, the bride of the victim is said to still be in shock over the sad incident.
She beckoned on the Ebonyi police command to ensure appropriate prosecution of the culprit is carried out.
One of the deceased’s brothers, Mr Emeka Chukwu stated that the incident was a pointer to the high number of illegal arms circulating in the country.
The Ebonyi state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident when contacted by news men.
Odah disclosed that the culprit had been arrested with investigations revealing that he was not a vigilante.
She further added that the source of the locally-made gun was yet to be ascertained.
She said, “Plans have been concluded to arraign the suspect.”
