Ebonyi Declares Public Holiday as Commissioner Dies | Daily Report Nigeria

The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Nweze Umahi, has declared Wednesday June 23, 2021 a work free day in honor of the late Commissioner for Infrastructure for Concession, Engr Fidelis Nweze.

Fidelis died in a ghastly motor accident on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

The Public Holiday is also honor of Engr Uche Okah, former Commissioner for Housing.

In a press statement on Tuesday, Special Assistant to the Governor, Media and Publicity, Francis Nwaze,
Umahi directed for all offices and markets to be closed, while all flags are to fly at half mast on Wednesday, June 23rd 2021 across the State.

The Governor also directed all Government officials to proceed on fasting to seek the face of God in the Affairs of the State While CAN is charged to organize Prayers to break the fast by 4pm at Christian Ecumenical Centre every day, starting from Wednesday, June 23 to Saturday, June 26, 2021.

All Government officials are enjoined to participate in all the activities.

The Governor further prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the fallen former State Executive Council members.

The late Commissioner for Infrastructure for Concession, Engr Fidelis Nweze died at the Turkish Hospital, Abuja on Tuesday morning after he sustained injuries in an auto crash.
