Sharia Police Bans Boutiques, Fashion Designers From Use of Mannequins in Kano
Sharia Police agency otherwise known as Hisbah, has banned boutiques and fashion design outlets from using mannequins to display outfits in Kano state.
Hisbah, an agency saddled with the responsibility of enforcing Shariah doctrine in Kano State, announced the ban on Wednesday.
The ban on the use ot mannequins also affect supermarkets in the state.

Hisbah warned it would embark on raiding of the banned places to remove mannequins, as it described the use of the items for advert purposes as idolatry.
Sheikh Aroun ibn Sina, Commander Hisbah in Kano, stated that the use of mannequins by tailors, boutique owners and others contravened the provision of Islamic injunctions.
According to the Commander, “Hisbah prohibits the use of mannequins at shops, commercial and private residences and other public places. This violates Islamic provisions, it is also responsible for immoral thoughts among some members of the public, all these are against Islam.
“We have divided Kano into five areas for the monitoring and implementation of the ban across the state.”
He added that Hisbah would embark on sensitisation of the people to educate them on how Islam frowns on the use of the mannequins, while the agency will send its officials to apprehend and prosecute offenders.
