A 20 year old youth set himself ablaze in Kano state, after not been able to raise enough money for his National Examination Council (NECO) exam.

The man identified to be Danladi Shu’aib, was said to have tried all possible ways to raise money for the exam, but could not, and later resorted to taking his own life.

It was gathered that he had written the exam three times before, but failed, so he had saved up to write again the fourth time, but only had half of the required fee.
