Joshua has spent the past two weeks without his lead trainer McCracken, Team GB’s Performance Director, and has been in Tokyo with the Olympians. “He is doing fine; he’s where he needs to be,” McCracken told Sky Sports from Tokyo about Joshua.
What has been said
McCracken, who spoke vividly about Joshua’s bout against Usyk, while on duty with Team Great Britain at the Olympics in Tokyo, said;
“I’ll get back, and there will still be seven weeks [before his fight], which is a long time in a 36-minute fight. “He’s in the position he needs to be.
“We’ll get back, the team and me, the others [at Tokyo 2020] who work with AJ, so we can put the work together, get the sparring right, get the prep right.
The Heavyweight title bout will be Anthony Joshua’s first fight this year, following a failed title fight against Tyson Fury.
