APC Announces Date For State, Local Government Congresses

APC Congresses gets new date

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has poured cold water to reports on some quarters that the ruling party has suspended its state and local government areas congresses indefinitely.

The debunker was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary of the Caretaker/ Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe.

In the statement titled, ‘APC: Reports of indefinite suspension of LGA, State Congresses is False,’ Senator Akpanudoedehe revealed that the congresses have been slated for September.

According to the CECPC Secretary, the local government areas congress is tentatively fixed for first week of September.

He said;
“Reports in some sections of the media that the CECPC of the APC has indefinitely suspended local government area and state congresses is false.

“Following the recent inauguration of Ward Congress Appeal Committees, the official information from the party was that dates and guidelines for the LGA congresses will be fixed after the conclusion of the ward congresses appeal exercise followed by due consideration of the appeal committee’s reports by the CECPC.

“The CECPC has tentatively fixed LGA congresses for the first week of September, 2021.
