Man Rapes 15-Year-Old Sister In-law

Wasiu Ibrahim, a 35-year-old man was arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court following allegations of raping his sister-in-law.

Wasiu, a professional vulcanizer, and resident of 61, Abeokuta St., Ogba, Lagos is being tried of having carnal knowledge of his wife’s younger sister without consent.

The prosecuting officer, Insp. Clifford Ogu told the court that Wasiu committed the offense on January 26, 2021, at his residence.

The victim, a 15-year-old girl was staying with her elder sister, the wife of the accused at the time Wasiu committed the offense.

“The accused raped the victim when his wife had travelled. He came home drunk and forcefully raped the victim,” Ogu said.

The offense by Wasiu contravenes Section 259 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the crime.

Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Taiwo Akanni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned till March 15 for mention by Mrs. Akanni.
