Police Officers Shot Dead by Gunmen in Delta | Daily Report Nigeria

Three (3) police officer have been reportedly shot dead by Gunmen at a checkpoint along Obeti/Oliogo Road in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.

Sources said the gunmen after killing the officers, set them ablaze inside the patrol van which was recently donated to the Umutu police division.

The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident sayjng;

“Three police officers attached to the Umutu Division Police Headquarters were attacked and killed on arrival to a checkpoint between Obeti and Oliogo in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta.

“They were burnt beyond recognition in their patrol Toyota Sienna”.

Tension has gripped residents of Umutu, Obeti and Oliogo and other neighbouring communities as a result of the incident.

DSP Edafe Bright said the CP, Ari Mohammed has directed all Tactical Teams to search all nooks and crannies of the villages and get hold of the culprits so they can face the law.

“As I speak with you, the CP is in Umutu,” he added.
