Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, had on Friday, convened a security meeting to address insecurity in the state, amid “influx of bandits”
Speaking at the government house on Friday, Sule made it known the security meeting was convened, following intelligence reports that suspected bandits have been sighted around Loko, Umaisha, Gitata, Udege, Nunku and Wamba areas of the state.
According to him Northern governors had earlier met and deliberated on reports of bandits fleeing from Kaduna, Zamfara, Niger and other parts of the north-west as a result of military onslaughts against the criminals,

He disclosed the state government will implement critical measures to tackle the security challenges in the state.
“As a result of all these that are coming to us, we have to do everything possible in order to maintain the peace,” Sule said.
“We decided to call this expanded meeting, because we have already noticed some movements into some locations in our state.”
Present at the meeting were heads of security agencies, traditional rulers, vigilante groups, members of the hunters’ association, and Fulani leaders.
