The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Dcn Kingsley Otuaro has been honored with an award of excellence for his humanitarian exploits in the state.

The award was given to the humanitarian by students of the Delta State School of Nursing, Warri.

The award was presented to Otuaro for his serial humanitarian endeavours especially for his great love and support for students, education and peace-building.

DCN Otuaro was given the honour at a Dinner/Award Nite organized by the Students Union Government (SUG) of the institution to mark their Students Week.

They described the Deputy Governor as selfless Deltan whose humanitarian endeavours transcend ethnic, political or religious divides especially in supporting the less privilege.

Otuaro was also applauded for his passion for education and students.

The body further attested to the immense support they had received from the Deputy Governor over the years in addition to specialized supports to several categories of students.

The Deputy Governor who was represented by his Special Assistant on Special Duties, Mr Louis Otuisi, expressed his profound appreciation to the body for the honour bestowed on him.

In his words, “I consider the support to students and education as a generational support and this is the reason it has been one priority areas in giving a helping hand.”

The Deputy Governor further encouraged the students to put in their best seeing the crucial role of their profession in the society upon graduation.

He admonished the students especially those graduating to key into the achievements made by the Okowa administration in the health sector taking advantage of the strengthened primary healthcare system to improve the healthcare system of the State.

In addition, he also enjoined them not to relent in their professional development, as that the Okowa administration is committed to the future of the youth; a testament is the recent creation of three universities across the three senatorial districts to serve the varied educational and professional development quest of students.
