Tottenham had Won 3-2 on Penalty against Wolves at Moleniux stadium in the 3rd round of the Carabao cup on Wednesday 22nd of Sep, 2021.

At that, Spurs have successfully booked their place in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup, perhaps, to banish the demons of last season when they lost 1-0 to Manchester City in the final.

The shootout followed the 2-2 tie between the two teams at the end of the 90 minutes.

Tottenham made it a second successful return to old stomping ground Molineux in a matter of weeks that night.

Even though it was far from plain sailing for Tottenham, who led 2-0 inside 25 minutes, Wolves came roaring back to equalize before the final whistle.

Tottenham had doubled their lead before the half time with Ndombele’s goal in the 13th and Kane netting in the 23rd minute.

Wolves then upturned the threat and relieved the pressure at the goal of Dendoncker few minutes before halftime (38 minute).

Daniel Pondence who was assisted by Dendoncker finally had the equalizing goal in 58th minute.

However, wolves eventually surrendered themselves to the Spurs amid shootout as Neves, Dendoncker and Coady all failed to hit the targets.

The spurs had not secured a win during 90 minutes since last month they thrashed Watford with a slim win of 1-0 in EPL.

Tottenham are now tripping to Burnley stadium in October for the next round of Carabao Cup.
