Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng E. Echeng has requested probing into the unanticipated demise of one Goodluck Oviekeme.
The 27 year old victim had passed away while held in police custody.
It was reported that the victim started running a high temperature and was rushed to the hospital.

Oviekeme however, gave up the ghost in the hospital despite all efforts to make him stay.
CoP Echeng has thereby, demanded that discreet enquiries be made and autopsy be carried out to reveal the reason behind his death.

The order given today, 25th of September via a statement to DAILY POST in Yenagoa through the PPRO, Asinim Butswat.
Asinim said: “The deceased suspect was arrested in connection with the armed robbery incident that occurred on 21 September 2021, at Biogbolo, Yenagoa, when hoodlums attacked a Police Patrol team, fatally injured Inspector Ugbotor Sunday and carted away his rifle. ”
“Preliminary investigation reveals that Goodluck Oviekeme was the mastermind of the attack on the patrol team. He was arrested on 22 September 2021 at about 0300 hours. ”
He added that: “The CP condoled the family of the deceased and assured the general public that investigations have commenced and that the outcome will be made public. ”
