Former Manchester United star, Paul Scholes has told Ole Gunner Solksjaer to keep French midfielder, Paul Pogba at the club.

28-year-old Pogba, whose current deal at Old Trafford runs out next summer is yet to commit his future to the club.

The legendary midfielder who has spent entire 21-year playing career at Old Trafford has told the club not to extend Pogba’s contract except he is ready to display the kind of form he displays for the French team.

The midfielder started well this season having contributed more assists than anyone else in England’s top flight.

Pogba is now lagging behind at Old Trafford most especially with his defensive duties.

The French International, however, was back to his best for France with catchy performances against Belgium and Spain in the Nations League.

Scholes has therefore told the Red Devils to only offer Pogba a new long-term deal given that he carried on that recent form.

Scholes told the Webby and O’Neil Show: “Everybody is a little bit unsure because he doesn’t do it week in and week out. ”

“I think there is a big debate. You would probably say half of the people want him, the other half would not be that bothered if he went.”

He added: “I think the middle of the pitch is a little bit of a problem for us. If he is on song and plays to his ability like he does for France every time he seems to play for them then you have got to try and keep him.”
