NDLEA Arrests Police, Immigration Officers and Others in Jigawa

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reportedly arrested 137 suspected drugs abusers in Jigawa State.

Hajiya Maryam Sani, the NDLEA State Commandant, while parading the suspects at the Agency’s headquarters in Dutse, the State capital made this known.

According to her, the suspects were arrested in a two-week joint operation carried out in Dutse, Kazaure, Hadejia, Babura, Gumel, Birnin Kudu local governments.

She further explained that 132 males and 2 females were arrested during the raid.

25 of them were students, 2 public servants(police and immigration officers), 2 civil servants and two traditional leaders.

Some of the seizures made include 2.559 kg of psychotropic substances, with accumulated grant total of 5.974 kg of various drugs worth millions of naira.
