Task Force Arrests Over 1,000 Bandits Arrested in Zamfara | Daily Report Nigeria

Over 1000 suspected bandits have been arrested by the Zamfara State Taskforce.

The team also intercepted 200 jerry cans of petrol bought by bandits who were operating in the State.

The Task Force was inaugurated by the State Governor, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle.

The Taskforce chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Dauran, while he was addressing newsmen in Gusau, the State capital, stated that those arrested were arraigned before a mobile court which was set up in the State by the present administration.

“Those arrested with drugs and other prohibited items were handed over to security agencies for discrete investigations. he said

“I want to make it clear that the committee has apprehended more than one thousand suspected persons, including those arrested with petrol jerry cans, drugs and unauthorised motorcyclists.”

Also a hotel where underage girls and married women were being taken to for illegal sexual affairs was discovered by the committee.

“The committee has ordered for the immediate closure of the hotel which is situated in Gusau, the State capital,” he disclosed.

He added that any hotel both registered and unregistered not complying with the State’s laws would be shut down immediately and permanently.
