Breaking: Court Adjourns Nnamdi Kanu’s Human Right Suit Against FG

Nnamdi Kanu’s human rights suit against the federal government has been adjourned by a Federal High Court in Abia State.

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra is suing the Nigerian government and the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF Abubakar Malami, on matters bordering on infringement of his human rights.

Aloy Ejimakor, a member of Kanu’s legal team disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday.

He said, “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s human rights suit which was slated for November 2, 2021, has been adjourned to November 19, 2021, by the Federal High Court in Abia.

“We are saddened by this development which primarily seeks the unconditional release of Kanu from his illegal detentions.”

Kanu is asking for justice over his extradition, alleged maltreatment by security operatives while asking for his release.

The case was assigned for hearing on November 2, 2021 by the court.

Nnamdi Kanu is currently detained by the Department of State Services, even as he awaits trial by the Nigerian government.

IPOB had called for a one-week sit-at-home in solidarity and for his unconditional release.
