Kuwaiti side, Kuwait Sporting Club have terminated their contract with the former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi.

The former Chelsea player was sacked four months following his move to the Brigadiers.

Kuwait SC yesterday disclosed the sack via a post on their Instagram account.

The Kuwait Sc’s captain annulled his contract with Stoke City mutually to join Kuwait city on the 2nd of July this year.

However, the 34-year-old free agent who penned down a one-year contract with the club has been given the ax.

The Jos-born midfielder, who represented Kuwait in the AFC Cup did not record a single league goal for Nabil Maamoul’s side.

The career starter at Plateau United who had just one goal in 249 appearances at Stamford Bridge failed to make his debut in 39 matches at Stole City throughout last season.

Mikel has played more than 350 games throughout his senior career having played for Lyn, Chelsea, Tianjin TEDA, Middlesbrough, Trabzonspor, Stoke City before he joined Kuwait SC.
