Ikoyi Building Collapse: Death Toll Rises to 44 | Daily Report Nigeria

The death toll from the building which collapsed in Ikoyi area of Lagos state has risen to 44.

The State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at about 6pm on saturday said 42 bodies had been recovered so far from the rubble.

According to sources, 2 more bodies were recovered on Sunday which increased the death toll to 44.

“One of the bodies was recovered around 8pm on Saturday, while the other body was recovered around midnight”.

“The recovery operation is still ongoing but should end by Monday morning. The work is about two per cent to completion,” the source added.

At the moment, there are 15 survivors and 49 persons have reported that their loved ones are missing.
