Former President Obasanjo has written an open letter to Chief Edwin Clark, saying he doesn’t hate the Niger Delta people.

2. We’re Tired of Begging Buhari Over Leah Sharibu – Parents

Nathan and Rebecca Sharibu, parents of a schoolgirl kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists have decried being treated with deaf ears by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The coupled expressed disappointment that their cries and pleas for the President to secure the release of their daughter have been treated with levity.

3. Why Buhari Won’t Sign Electoral Act – Malami

The Attorney General of Federation, Abubakar Malami, has explained why President Muhammadu Buhari won’t assent to the Electoral Amendment Bill.

4. Abia Varsity Sacks Randy Lecturer

The board of Abia State University (ABSU) has sacked a lecture for his involvement in sex-for-grades scandal.

The lecturer, Micheal Ukaegbu is said to be a senior lecturer and former Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication.

5. Okorocha Issues Police 24-hr Ultimatum

Senator Rochas Okorocha has issued the police 24 hours to explain the offense of his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.

Nwosu, who is a former Chief of Staff to Okorocha was arrested on Sunday at the St Peter’s Anglican Church, Eziama Obieri in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.

The Imo West Senator has vowed to take legal actions to force the police to release the politicians’ alleged offense if it fails to meet his demand in the next 24 hours.

6. PDP Ward Chairman Allegedly Poisoned to Death

A ward chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Sapele Local Government Area in Delta State has died under mysterious circumstances.

Peter Agboghoroma is said to have died shortly after returning from a party, leading to suggestions by the family he may have been poisoned.

7. Nigeria Signs MoU to Commercialize Intellectual Property

Nigeria’s government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Developing Africa Group to create Africa’s first intellectual property rights (IPR) commercialization project.

Ibrahim Haruna, head of press and public relations of the ministry of industry, trade, and investment made this known on Monday.

The minister, Adeniyi Adebayo, was quoted as saying the project would allow the group to use IPR as a means of resolving some of the issues and challenges facing the country.

8. 2023: Youth Parliament Calls For Reduction of Form Fees

Ibraheem Abdullateef, a representative of Kwara central in the Nigerian Youth Parliament (NYP), has called on political parties in Nigeria to reduce the fees of their nomination forms by 60 percent for youths.

The youth representative, in a statement on Sunday, said the “crazy” cost of nomination forms of the two major political parties in Nigeria is “uneconomical and undemocratic”.

9. Reps Move to Jail NYSC Offenders

The House of Representatives has proposed a bill seeking to jail companies and business owners who default a 1% profit contribution to the NYSC Fund.

The bill proposes an N2 million fine or a one-year prison sentence for defaulters.

10. Thugs Beat up Delegates at PDP State Congress in Zamfara

Hoodlums on Monday invaded the Zamfara State People’s Democratic Party Congress and inflicted injuries on participants.

The thugs were said to have beaten up delegates and destroyed various properties while disrupting congress.
