Two European clubs have reacted to Nigeria’s 1-0 victory above Egypt in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, 1-0 on Tuesday, 11th.

The Eagles’ impressive display on their opener has attracted a reaction from Emmanuel Dennis’ side, Watford which competes in the English Premier League.

Both teams have congratulated the Eagles who have outstandingly flaunted against Mohamed Salah’s side in Garoua, Cameroon.

Reacting, The Golden Boys took to their Twitter handle: “Well done, boys! A clean sheet for Troost-Ekong and @OkoyeMaduka in Nigeria’s victorious #AFCON2021 opener against Egypt!”

Also, the oldest professional football team in the Netherlands, Sparta Rotterdam have sent a message to the Nigeria team.

The Red-White Gladiators tweeted: “Congratulations @OkoyeMaduka and #TeamNigeria with the 1-0 victory in the @CAF_Online. Our home is in your colours! #NGAEGY.”

Kudos to the ‘Senior Man’ Kelechi Iheanacho who grabbed the single goal in the first half of the match.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian first-choice goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye who moved to Vicarage Stadium last November is currently on loan at the Castle Lords until the end of this season.

Hopefully, Nigeria will continue with their fine form when they compete with Sudan in the next fixture of the African tournament on Saturday.
