Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has declared that the People’s Democratic Party is ready to take over leadership of Nigeria come 2023.

The governor stated this on Saturday during the Mega Rally of the PDP in Asaba, the Delta State capital, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Thanking members and supporters of the party for their large turnout at the rally, Okowa said;

“This rally today has made a statement across Nigeria that PDP is ready to take over this nation.

“What this says about us in the PDP is that we’re one family. We’re not like the other people. I don’t like calling their names. We walk with love,” he said.

The governor expressed gratitude to Deltans for giving his government the enabling environment to do all his administration could do.

Okowa particularly thanked Deltans for consistently voting the PDP to rule the state with landslide victories at the previous elections.

He reiterated that governance in under his administration has continually done well in empowering youths through partner programs as well as entrepreneurship programs.

The governor assured that the PDP will continue in the direction of good leadership if voted in come 2023.

Okowa also stated that his administration gave room for women to partake in active politics by giving them and will continue to do so.

On infrastructure, the governor promised that his administration will continue to build more roads until he leaves office.

On the forthcoming elections, Okowa asked for support from Deltans to enable the PDP continue in it’s development strides in the state.

“I ask for your support for the PDP, because we need to make a statement in Nigeria that Delta is PDP and PDP is Delta.”

He pleaded with all aspirants under the PDP to control their followers to do away with infighting as all members of the party are brother.

The erstwhile Senator further assured that “there will be a free and fair election so there is no room to fight. There’s no room for quarrel. Let us work together and continue to ensure that the PDP stays as one family.”
