18-year-old Lures His Girlfriend, Kills and Beheads Her for Money-Ritual

Three teenage lads, aged 17 to 20, have killed and beheaded one of their girlfriends in Ogun State on January 29, by Ogun State Police Command.

The suspects, Wariz Oladehinde, 17 years, Abdul Gafar Lukman 19 years and Mustakeem Balogun 20 years were all arrested following a piece of information received at Adatan divisional headquarters from the head of the community security guard, that the suspects were seen burning something suspected to be human head in a local pot.

Upon the information, the DPO Adatan division, SP Abiodun Salau, swiftly led his investigators to the spot, where the three suspects were detained.

Soliu Majekodumi, the dead girl’s lover, was caught after fleeing the scene.

During interrogation, the captured suspects admitted that what they were burning in the neighborhood pot was the head of their accomplice’s girlfriend.

They also admitted that the girl, just known as Rofiat, was brought by her lover, simply known as Soliu, to a location where she was murdered by four of them, after which they chopped off her head and placed the remains in a sack and discarded it in an abandoned building.

They later led police officers to the building, where the dismembered body was retrieved and lodged in the general hospital mortuary for autopsy.

A small cutlass and a knife were used to sever the deceased’s head.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, who described the suspects’ actions as callous, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation with a view to arraigning them in court as soon as possible.
