Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officers on patrol of the 3rd Mainland Bridge on Thursday afternoon prevented a girl from committing suicide by jumping into the lagoon.
The officers restrained a young girl who was attempting to jump into the lagoon at the Iyana Oworo end of the bridge.
In a light conversation, the lady revealed, “I was beaten at home, which is why I ran away to commit suicide.”

According to Daily Report, the officers were drawn to the lady by a dispatch rider before racing to the scene to prevent her from jumping into the lagoon.
She was taken to the Iyana Oworo Police Division, where efforts are being made to contact family members.
