The Katsina Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has alleged that smugglers now conspire with terrorists to attack officers stationed in border communities across the state.
Dalha Wada Chedi, the Katsina Area Commander, made this known on Thursday while briefing newsmen shortly after a Customs/Community Consultative Forum.
He said: “desperate smugglers now collaborate with bandits to attack us leading to casualties among our officers.”
Chedi, who accused some members of the community of blackmailing customs, however, warned smugglers to desist from such and look for a legal and viable venture to indulge in.
