The Confederation of African Football, CAF has confirmed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations’ best eleven.

CAF took to Twitter to disclose this after the end of the African competition on Sunday night.

It’s so disastrous that no Super Eagles players made the Best XI list, neither does anyone of them is found in the reserve bench, not even Moses Simon, who had performed impressively before his side were eliminated by Tunisia at the knockout stage.

Four players of the hosts, Cameroon made the list with the Chelsea shot-stopper (Edouard Mendy) crowned the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Nampalys Mendy, Saliou Ciss and lastly, the best player of the tournament, Sadio Mane among the Best X1.

The Champions, Senegal crushed the Pharaohs of Egypt 4-2 on penalties in the concluded AFCON final in Cameroon on Sunday.

The final clash ended in a 0-0 draw after extra time.

Sadio Mane who missed penalty in the seventh minute of the match eventually rescued Aliou Cissé’s team after he scored the last penalty against Egypt to ensure they won their first-ever AFCON title.

Best XI: Mendy, Hakimi, Abdelmonem, Tapsoba, Ciss, N.Mendy, Toure, Elneny, Salah, Aboubakar and Mane.

Substitutes: Andre Onana, Collins Fai, Kalidou Koulibaly, Mahmoud Hamdy, Ahmed Abo Elfetouh, Andre Anguissa, Youssouf M’Changama, Bertrand Traore, Sofiane Boufal, Toko Ekambi, Famara Diedhiou.
