UNIBEN student, Miss Uwaila Vera Omozuwa was gang-raped in a RCCG Church in Benin on Wednesday
Angry youths in Benin have set the Redeemed Christian Church of God where Miss Uwaila Vera Omozuwa, a 100-level student of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), was allegedly gang-raped and killed yet to be apprehended men.
Findings reveal that the angry youths mobilized themselves to the Ikpoba Hill branch of the RCCG church, where Miss Uwaila Vera Omozuwa was sexually assaulted to burn down the structure.
Uwaila’s death was first announced through a memo by the Student Union Government, SUG of the University of Benin.

The Management of University of Benin, UNIBEN also confirmed the sad incident and condemned the act, while consoling the family of the murder victim.
Public Relations Officer of the University of Benin, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, pointed out how much painful it is to lose a child at this time, saying it only compounds the hardship brought heightened by the Coronavirus pandemic.
22-year-old had gone to read in a nearby Redeem Christian Church of God situated in the Ikpoba Hill area of Benin when her assailants forcefully took turns to have canal knowledge of her, and left her for dead after bashing her with a fire extinguisher.
Source say the church’s security officer and the keeper of the key to the church alongside his wife rushed Uwaila to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, after they met her motionless in a pool of her own blood.
Uwaila narrated her ordeal while in the hospital before giving up the ghost on Saturday night, four days after her attack.
Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki has ordered the police to undertake a thorough investigation to fish out perpetrators of the act and prosecute them within the confines of the law.
