Breaking: FG Lifts Ban on Churches, Mosques Nationwide

Nigeria’s Federal Government has lifted the ban earlier placed on worship centres across the federation.

This was announced by the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus on Monday evening.

National Coordinator of the task force, Dr. Aliyu Sani, disclosed the new directives on Monday as he gave details on the just ended second phase eased nationwide lockdown.

The Federal government while lifting the ban on Monday, said that churches and mosques as well as other places of worship can resume their spiritual activities with strict adherence to the safety measures as provided by the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus.

The government also insisted that all protocols agreed upon by State Governments with religious leaders in their various stares must be followed.

According to the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, Dr Aliyu Sani, the government has said directed all flight operators to resume operations three weeks to resume domestic flights in June.

Also, the timing for the nationwide curfew has been reduced from 10pm to 4am by president President Muhammadu Buhari.

The country’s financial sector has also been ordered to fully resume operations as government offices are directed to operate from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday.

Also, hotels are directed to reopen fully for business but must follow mandatory non- pharmaceutical interventions.

All Restaurants apart from those attached to hotels are to remain closed for eat-ins but can continue with the takeaway system advised before now.
