Zulum Entices Doctors with Good Benefits and Salary Packages

Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno State, has promised medical doctors and other health workers that his administration will review and approve improved welfare and salary packages commensurate with their services.

He made the assurance during a visit to the border town of Gamboru in Ngala Local Government Area, where he and Senator Kashim Shettima conducted humanitarian responses from Sunday to Tuesday.

This was stated by his spokesman, Isa Gusau, in a statement titled, ‘Two days in Gamboru: Zulum, Shettima share food, cash to 60,803 returnees’ on Tuesday.

After coordinating humanitarian responses, the governor paid a visit to the General Hospital in Ngala town and a primary healthcare center in Gamboru town, where he thanked the health workers for their efforts.

During a meeting with medical doctors, Zulum stated that he will approve salaries that will match International NGOs’ payment plans in order to attract doctors to work in Ngala.

Previously, Zulum and Shettimah oversaw the distribution of food and non-food items to a total of 60,813 internally displaced people in camps and communities.

Mustapha Gubio, Agriculture, Engr. Bukar Talba, and Poverty Alleviation, Nuhu Clark, and a number of humanitarian workers, officials, and APC chief

On arrival, they were greeted by some key stakeholders from Ngala LGA, including the State Assembly member representing Ngala, Bukar Mustapha Dalhatu, the Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Abacha Umar Ngala, the Special Adviser, AbdulRahman AbdulKarim, and the Special Adviser on Events and Hospitality, Bintu Sheriff.
