an early morning fire has reportedly engulfed a building in Umuagu area of Asaba, the Delta State capital destroying properties worth millions of naira

The incident was said to have happened at about 12:30 am on Wednesday, February 16, while the occupants and other residents in the neighborhood were fast asleep.

They were woken up by the heat of the fire as they watched their properties burn.

Firefighters both from the state and federal service arrived at the scene of the incident almost immediately and put off the fire.

It has not been ascertained if any life was lost at the time of filing this report, and the cause of the fire has not been established.
